Act of God
Set in sweltering, rain-soaked Brooklyn in 2015, the story follows Edith, a retired legal librarian, and her twin sister Kat, who stumble upon a mysterious, glowing mushroom sprouting from their wall. Their landlady, Vida Cebu, a TV commercial star, discovers a runaway Russian au pair secretly living in her guest room closet, and a second glowing mushroom is found under the au pair’s bedding. As a HAZMAT team evacuates the building, the mold infestation spreads, plunging the four women into a nightmarish crisis as New Yorkers grapple with the escalating plague.
